EAU CLAIRE - A workshop designed for educators, administrators, counselors and other school personnel on understanding and communicating with Hmong Americans will be held Wednesday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education office, 210 Water Street.
Instructor Pang Cher Vue will provide practical insights on the historical background of the Hmong and its influence today, Hmong identity issues and how to work with Hmong students from a parents' perspective. He also will share information on Hmong culture, religious beliefs and rituals.
The conference is sponsored by UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education. Tuition is $95 for .6 CEUs or $285.62 for one graduate credit. (Additional day of instruction is required for graduate credit. Date to be arranged between participants and instructor.)
