EAU CLAIRE - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host Astronomy Day on Saturday, May 10.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include displays, events and handouts in Phillips Science Hall. Displays include astrophotography and telescopes. A solar telescope will be available to safely look at sunspots.

Short planetarium shows will be shown every hour and half hour beginning at 11 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m.

All events are free, open to the public and will take place on the first floor of Phillips Hall or outside the north doors.

The Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society and the L.E. Phillips Planetarium are sponsoring Astronomy Day.
