University Band
To Perform April 28

EAU CLAIRE - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's University Band will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The ensemble, conducted by Dr. Randal Dickerson, assistant professor of music and theatre arts, will begin the concert with "The Sinfonians" by Clifton Williams. The University Band will continue with "Irish Tune from Country Derry" and "Shepherd's Hey" by Percy Aldridge Grainger, "Incantation and Dance" by John Barnes Chance and "On a Hymnsong of Lowell Mason" by David R. Holsinger. The ensemble will conclude with "Armenian Dances" by Alfred Reed and "The Klaxon" by Henry Fillmore.

The University Band is open to all UW-Eau Claire students and offers students an opportunity to play quality repertoire. The band is comprised of talented musicians from many academic disciplines as well as music majors, some of whom choose to perform on a secondary instrument.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or 1-800-949-UWEC, are $3.75 for the general public; $2.75 for those 62 and older and children 17 and younger; and free for faculty, staff and students with a university ID.
