for Nurses, Health Care Professionals
To be Offered at UW-Eau Claire in May

EAU CLAIRE - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Office
of Continuing Education will be offering a variety of programs for registered
nurses and health care professionals throughout the month of May.
- "Technology Update for Nurses Outside the
Acute Care Setting" - Luther Hospital Nutritional
Support Services nurse Wendy Erickson, UW-Eau Claire nursing professor CeCelia
Zorn, and UW-Eau Claire clinical instructor Julie Hanson will help nurses
meet the challenges of the rising acuity of health problems and the increasing
complexity of technology that have created new demands on nurses in nursing
homes, home care, school and other community settings. The class will be held
9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at UW-Eau Claire.
- "Bipolar in a Unipolar World: Recognition,
Significance and Approaches to Treatment" -
Accurate recognition of this lifelong and often misunderstood disorder is
the first step to effective treatment. Learn from experienced clinicians the
current practice guidelines, comorbidity and its impact, suicidality concerns
and the psychosocial interventions that make a difference. Social workers,
teachers and parents may also benefit from this class. Offered from 9 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, at the Park Inn and Suites in Eau Claire.
UW-Eau Claire, in cooperation with UW-Extension, awards Contact
Hours or Continuing Education Units for these classes. Early registration is
preferred to guarantee space and prevent cancellation. You may register online
