UW-Eau Claire to Host Discussion
Following 'Living with Grief' Teleconference

 MAILED:  March 26, 2003

EAU CLAIRE - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension is hosting a discussion following the viewing of the 10th annual "Living With Grief" Teleconference, "Living with Grief: Coping with Public Tragedy," by the Hospice Foundation of America.

The teleconference, which will air from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, is hosted by ABC News correspondent Cokie Roberts. The discussion will begin immediately after the teleconference and last until 3:30 p.m. Interested participants can go either to the Dunn County Extension Office, 800 Wilson Ave. in Menomonie, or to the Eau Claire County Extension Office, 227 First St. West in Altoona.

The panel discussion is designed to benefit a wide range of professionals, including police, firefighters, rescue and emergency service personnel and hospital ER staffs and schools, as they support their communities and help people cope with losses that often accompany public tragedies.

During the two-and-one-half-hour discussion, the panelists will look at what factors define a public tragedy and ways health care and other professionals can appropriately respond and offer support.

Full participants of the teleconference and discussion may receive three credit hours or 0.3 Continuing Education Units.

The cost is $25 per person, which includes instruction, UW-Eau Claire CEUs and book. The completed registration form and payment is due by April 23.
