Acclaimed Amadeus Trio to Perform
At UW-Eau Claire April 7

 MAILED:  March 25, 2003

EAU CLAIRE - The Amadeus Trio will perform Monday, April 7, at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Artists Series concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The ensemble will perform Beethoven's Variations in G major, Op. 121a, "Ich bin der Schneider Kakadu"; Trio Brasileiro, Op. 32, by Oscar Lorenzo Fernandez; and Tchaikovsky's Trio in A minor, Op. 50.

Celebrating ten seasons of acclaimed performances to enthusiastic audiences, the Amadeus Trio is generally acknowledged as one the foremost piano trios in the world. Recognized for their virtuosity and musicianship, the three artists - pianist Marian Hahn, violinist Timothy Baker, and cellist Jeffrey Solow - also enjoy award-winning solo careers.

The Amadeus Trio has appeared regularly in major cultural centers including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, St. Louis, Washington, Miami, Philadelphia and Salt Lake City during the past decade. In addition to its formal concert season, the trio is an established guest ensemble at summer chamber festivals throughout the United States.

During the spring of 1992, the Amadeus Trio made its Lincoln Center debut in Alice Tully Hall, and has performed at many of this country's major musical venues including, among others, San Francisco's Herbst Theatre, Los Angeles' Ambassador Auditorium, New York's Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Numerous performances of the Amadeus Trio have been broadcast over National Public Radio's "Performance Today." The trio has also performed live on the well-known classical music stations WQXR in New York, WGMS in Washington and WGBH in Boston.

The Amadeus Trio's debut recording, works by Dvorak and Smetana, was released in early 2001.
