University Symphony Orchestra
To Present Spring Concert April 6

EAU CLAIRE - The University Symphony Orchestra at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will present a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The ensemble, conducted by Nobuyoshi Yasuda, assistant professor of music, will begin the concert with "An American in Paris" by George Gershwin. The ensemble also will perform "West Side Story: Symphonic Dances" by Leonard Bernstein, "The Tsar's Bride: Overture" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and "The Firebird Suite" by Igor Stravinsky.

The University Symphony Orchestra is a 60-member student ensemble that performs symphonic repertoire from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The ensemble presents an on-campus concert each semester, performs annually in a tour of high schools in Wisconsin and Minnesota, accompanies one fully-staged opera or musical play each year, and is a featured ensemble at the UW-Eau Claire Viennese Ball.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or 1-800-949-UWEC, are $5 for the general public; $4 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.50 for students with a university ID.
