Performing Free at UW-Eau Claire

 MAILED:  March 13, 2003

EAU CLAIRE — Howard "Guitar" Luedtke and Blue Max will perform three power-blues shows at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire March 27-29.

The free concerts will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday in The Cabin of Davies Center.

Led by one of the Midwest's best slide guitar players, the rocking electric blues trio has opened shows for such big-name blues artists as Long John Baldrey, Lonnie Brooks, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Li'l Ed and the Blues Imperials, Tinsley Ellis, Jeff Healey, Jimmy Johnson, Kenny Neal, A.C. Reed, Eddy Shaw, Herbert Sumlin, Koko Taylor, Joe Louis Walker and Johnny Winter. Blue Max has three recordings on the False Dog label — "Molded by the Blues" (1992), "Live in Gleisdorf, Austria" (1995), and "Face to Face with the Blues" (1996).

The shows are open to all ages. Soft drinks, domestic and imported beer, wine coolers and popcorn will be sold. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

The Cabin program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
