Students and Faculty Invited to
Presentation by Illustrator Jordin Isip

EAU CLAIRE — Award-winning illustrator Jordin Isip, one of 16 illustrators whose work is currently on display in the Foster Gallery, will visit the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 10 and 11, to meet with students and give a presentation.
Isip will speak from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. His presentation is being held in conjunction with the exhibit, "Illustration: Personal Responses in a Public World," which runs until Feb 13.
Isip will describe how he went from art student to professional freelance illustrator, show his student work as well as recent work, and talk about his view of illustration as a medium in relation to other modes of visual communication.
Isip, who earned a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, was born and raised in Queens, New York, and now resides in Brooklyn. His mixed-media images have appeared in numerous periodicals, including Adbusters, The Atlantic Monthly, Bloomberg Personal Finance, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Time Magazine and Yahoo! Internet Life, as well as on book covers, posters, records and CDs. Isip's work has received awards from and publication in numerous annuals, including American Illustration, The Art Directors Club, Communication Arts, Print Magazine, and The Society of Publication Designers. His work also has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Ontario, and Rome. Isip currently teaches at Tyler School of Art and Rhode Island School of Design.
