Two Christian Music Bands
To Perform at UW-Eau Claire

MAILED: Feb. 5, 2003

EAU CLAIRE  Two of Christian music's pre-eminent bands — multi-platinum selling Jars of Clay and Dove Award-winning Caedmon's Call — will share the stage at a Feb. 22 concert at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Randall Goodgame will appear as special guest at the 7:30 p.m. show Saturday in Zorn Arena. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the concert, presented by the University Activities Commission of the Student Senate.
Jars of Clay's music has crossed over nearly every format, reaching the top of numerous charts — including alternative rock, pop, adult contemporary and gospel. On the heels of a successful fall tour and an American Music Award nomination, the band is visiting more than 40 cities with its Essential Records label mate Caedmon's Call during a college-market tour that continues into April. The evening will feature the trademark organic Caedmon's Call sound as well as Jars' guitar-driven musical style.
Jars of Clay recently added four more Dove Award nominations to its list of 22 career Gospel Music Association nods.
"The Eleventh Hour," the band's critically acclaimed 2002 release, produced two number-one singles ("I Need You," "Fly"). The CD also received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album, marking Jars of Clay's fourth consecutive Recording Academy nod for each of the band's studio projects.
The band won its first Grammy for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album in 1997 with its platinum-selling recording, "Much Afraid," followed by a second consecutive win in the category in 2001 with its gold-selling, "If I Left the Zoo."
Released Feb. 4, Jars of Clay's fifth project is a two-disc set, "Furthermore — From the Studio, From the Stage." Caedmon's Call released its fifth CD, "Back Home," on the same day.
Known for a grassroots following largely comprised of college-age fans nationwide, Caedmon's Call has amassed a stream of accolades, including an Album of the Year Dove Award, a Billboard Music Video Award nomination, six number-one radio singles, and record sales approaching one million units. "In the Company of Angels," the Houston-based group's last album, garnered a 2002 Dove Award nomination for Praise and Worship Album of the Year.
Tickets are on sale at the University Service Center in Davies Center. Reserved seats are $19.50 in advance ($17.50 each for groups of ten or more) or $22.50 at the door. Gold Circle tickets are $26.50 ($23.50 with a UW-Eau Claire student ID card); no group discount is available. A $1 service fee is charged for each ticket purchased without a UW-Eau Claire student ID.
Tickets may be charged to MasterCard or Visa when ordered by phone. Call (715) 836-3727 — or, outside the immediate Eau Claire area, call toll-free (800) 949-UWEC. A $3 handling fee will be added to all telephone charge orders.
