Brings Home Another First-place Win

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team traveled to Normandale Community College Jan. 28 to compete with 12 other schools in the Twin Cities Forensics League Tournament. The team brought home another first-place win for the season and several more qualifications for nationals.
Individual results were as follows:
Senior Ben Schneider, Greendale, took first place in prose interpretation, qualifying him for the American Forensics Association tournament.
Sophomore Dan Mc Neely, Bloomington, Minn., placed first in both poetry and after-dinner speaking, qualifying him for the AFA tournament.
Sophomore Kelly Bender, New London, took second in communication analysis, qualifying her for the National Forensics Association tournament, and third in prose interpretation.
Sophomore Andy Bevernitz, Clintonville, placed first in persuasive speaking, qualifying him for the AFA tournament.
Sophomore Amanda Dolan, Greenfield, placed third in poetry interpretation.
Sophomore Christopher Conklin, Green Bay, took third in impromptu speaking.
Freshman Katie Nutting, Wausau, placed third in informative speaking and fourth in prose interpretation, which qualifies her for the NFA tournament.
Freshman Rachel Mayasich, St Cloud, Minn., took third in extemporaneous speaking, qualifying her for the NFA tournament, and sixth in informative speaking.
Freshman Abby Czeskleba, Middleton, took sixth in persuasive speaking, qualifying her for the NFA tournament.
