Registration to Begin for
UW-Eau Claire Summer Session 2003

MAILED: Jan. 27, 2003

EAU CLAIRE  Registration for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Summer Session 2003 will begin Feb. 3. Community members are invited to explore the wealth of educational opportunities offered at UW-Eau Claire when open registration begins Feb. 18.
"We always try to offer something for everyone during summer session, and this year is no exception," said Janice Morse, administrative officer for Academic Affairs. "There are more than 220 undergraduate and graduate courses to choose from this summer, including 21 Web-based courses we're offering to help meet the needs of people who find it difficult to come to campus."
The online courses are designed to be appealing both to working adults who are trying to fit classes into already busy schedules and to traditional-age students who want to earn credits while traveling or working at home during the summer. In addition to a variety of courses offered by the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Business, the College of Professional Studies will offer classes through the School of Nursing, School of Education and School of Human Sciences and Services. For more information about these online courses, check the Web at
Summer Session 2003 also offers more than 200 on-campus courses that range from the study of human anatomy and physiology to technical writing to painting or photography. Students also may earn credits at off-campus locations, studying biology, for example, at the Pigeon Lake Field Station in Chequamegon National Forest in Northern Wisconsin or marine biology and geology at the Gulf Coast Research Lab in Ocean Springs, Miss.
Summer Session participants also may take advantage of the numerous recreational opportunities in the area by renting some of the wide variety of outdoor equipment available at UW-Eau Claire's Hilltop Center, or participating in some of the free-time recreation and fitness center activities offered throughout the summer.
This year again, students can pay their UW-Eau Claire Summer Session tuition and fees using MasterCard or Visa. Payment will be accepted in person, in a written request or by phone.
The three-week Summer Session will run May 19-June 6, and the eight-week session will run June 9-Aug. 1.
For descriptions, times and dates for all Summer Session classes, including online courses, visit UW-Eau Claire's Web site at or call Registration and Scheduling at (715) 836-2425.
