EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Jan. 27. All events are free and open to the public.Sunday, Feb. 2:
- Dr. Timothy Lane, associate professor of music, and Dr. Barbara Wimunc-Pearson, professor of music, will present a faculty recital at 2 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Flutist Lane and pianist Wimunc–Pearson will perform four works, beginning with a four-part Sonata by eighteenth-century composer Johann Friedrich Agricola, followed by Beethoven's Sonata No. 10 in G Major, Op. 96. The second part of the program will feature music by twentieth century composers: "Le Merle Noir" by Olivier Messiaen and a Sonate by Francis Poulenc.
- Dr. Richard Fletcher, professor of music, Paul Kowower, professor of music, and Dr. Alexandre Dossin, assistant professor of music, will perform a faculty chamber music concert at 7:30 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Fletcher on clarinet, Kosower on cello, and Dossin on piano will perform two pieces: Beethoven's Trio No. IV for Clarinet, Cello and Piano, Op. 11, and Johannes Brahms' Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano, Op. 114. All three performers are active soloists and have performed internationally. Brazilian born pianist Dossin joined the UW-Eau Claire music faculty just last year.
