New paperless process in place for GF parking applications
Application information for 2009-10 Guaranteed Faculty/Staff (GF) parking permits has been distributed by e-mail to all UW-Eau Claire employees. Those who currently have GF permits must submit new applications.

New this year as part of UW-Eau Claire’s sustainability initiatives is a change from paper applications to paperless e-mail applications. The application should be filled out, saved and sent as an e-mail attachment to GFparking@uwec.edu. Notification of approval or denial will be e-mailed to each applicant in July.

Employment
Following are new employment opportunities at UW-Eau Claire. A list of all currently available job openings and additional information about each position, including application procedures, may be found on the Academic Affairs employment opportunities Web site.

    • Athletics: Two athletic training intern positions — one for 25 percent; and one for 12.5 percent — 836-3062.
    • Continuing Education: Outreach specialist in the Small Business Development Center — 836-5745.

Obsolete Desire2Learn records to be purged
The UW System began using the learning management system, Desire2Learn, in fall 2003. Since its deployment all D2L course content and student records have been retained. Last year the UW System formed a work group to develop a policy for digital instructional record retention. More information about the policy is available online.

A process now is in place to remove obsolete D2L course content and student contributions. D2L courses offered in any term prior to fall 2005 have been identified as candidates for removal. Desire2Learn courses for the following terms will be removed completely and permanently as of May 26, 2009:
fall 2003, winterim 2004, spring 2004, summer 2004, fall 2004, winterim 2005, spring 2005 and summer 2005.

Instructors are asked to review their D2L courses for the terms listed above for any course information they wish to retain.
