"Shady Sisters" by Danielle Schmitzare among the works included in the April 3-15 senior BFA art show in Foster Gallery.Foster Gallery BFA Exhibit. The current exhibit features works by May 2009 bachelor of fine arts degree candidates. The exhibit includes a variety of drawings; oil and acrylic paintings and watercolors; digital photography, photo and performance art installations; ceramics; and graphic design pieces, including posters, packaging, brochures, identity systems and inkjet prints. The works will be on display through April 15. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and 1 to 4:30 p.m. weekends. More information.

Semester at Sea Presentation. Beth Hellwig, Dean of Students Office; and Michael Weil, College of Arts and Sciences, will discuss opportunities available for educators who participate in the Semester at Sea program. CETL, OL 1142, 1 to 3 p.m.

fishing rodFly Fishing Workshop. The UW-Eau Claire Environmental Adventure Center and the Wisconsin Clear Waters Chapter of Trout Unlimited will offer a two-part "Introduction to Fly Fishing" workshop. The workshops will run from 4-8 p.m. today in the EAC, located in the basement of Hilltop Center on upper campus, and April 8 along the Chippewa River near Haas Fine Arts Center. The workshop fee is $10 for students and $15 for faculty/staff and the general public. The fee includes a membership in the local chapter of Trout Unlimited. More information.

CETL Drop-in Discussion. April Bleske-Rechek and David Jewett, psychology, will discuss ideas and tips for mentoring undergraduate students at various levels of expertise and through various steps of the research process. Faculty and staff are invited to share their experiences and ideas about how to make the educator/student research experience successful. CETL, OL 1142, 3 to 4 p.m.

Communication and journalism faculty member Judy Sims is conducting a faculty-student collaborative research project titled "International Awareness Through Intercultural Radio Interviews." For the project, UW-Eau Claire student researchers are conducting 20 interviews with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. The interviews will be aired as a radio series called "Culture Talk, which airs at 6 p.m. on WUEC radio, 89.7 FM. More information.
