Don Mowry, Center for Service-Learning; Dylan Thomas, an AmeriCorps VISTA representative to UW-Eau Claire; UW-Eau Claire student Lindsey Johnson, the Campus Kitchens Project president; Christian Wyse, Sodexo Food Services; and Rick Beckler, Sacred Heart Hospital, will be guests on Wisconsin Public Radio's "The West Side" today. The group will discuss the UW-Eau Claire Campus Kitchens Project, a new organization which will donate unused food from UW-Eau Claire cafeterias to those in need in the community. children's bookChildren's Story Time Session. Kati Tvaruzka, McIntyre Library, will lead a story time session for children attending the UW-Eau Claire Children's Center. Alternative Fuel Vehicle Seminar. Chris Schneider, an expert on hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles, will lead the seminar. A video discussing alternative fuel vehicles will be shown and a question-and-answer session with experts on electric and natural gas technologies will be held. A natural gas vehicle and a neighborhood electric vehicle will be on display on the Central Campus Mall. Davies Theatre, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. More information.

UW-Eau Claire Blugolds logoCourt 'n Rink Luncheon. UW-Eau Claire's head women's basketball coach Tonja Englund and head men's hockey coach Matt Loen will comment on the current season. Two Dublin hit men hole up in the small, storybook Belgian town of Bruges after a botched job gets them into trouble with their London crime boss. Out of place amidst the gothic architecture, canals and cobbled streets, the hit men fill their days living the lives of tourists. One hates the place, while the other finds his mind and soul expanded by the beauty and serenity of the city. Sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the Student Senate. Cabaret "Colors" graphicCabaret XXXI. "Colors." The theme for this year's production is "Colors," with each set named for a color represented by titles, composers or artists associated with that color. Cabaret features student performers from ensembles in the music and theatre arts department as well as various small acts and solo performers. The concert will include performances by the Concert Choir, The Singing Statesmen and the Women's Concert Chorale. Other featured performers are Frank Moran, Midwest Reciprocity and The Golden Girls. Foster Gallery imagesFoster Gallery Exhibit. A new exhibit titled "Drawing beyond Edges" opens today and runs through Feb. 19. Curated by art & design faculty members Jill Olm and Scott Robertson, the show examines the importance that materials and processes play in contemporary drawing approaches in the large-scale drawings of Amanda Hughen, Edward Mayer, Cal Lane and Fraser Taylor. An opening reception will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. tonight in the gallery. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and 1 to 4:30 p.m. weekends. More information.
