Notice of Meetings

UW-Eau Claire accounting students provide free income tax assistance
UW-Eau Claire accounting students, working under the direction of accounting faculty member Stacy Lacktorin-Revier, will provide free income tax assistance to taxpayers who cannot afford to pay for professional help through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. VITA, a program of the Internal Revenue Service and Wisconsin Department of Revenue, provides free tax return assistance to taxpayers with adjusted gross annual incomes under $39,000.

Times and locations of income tax assistance are as follows:

    • Mondays until April 14, 4-7 p.m.: Western Dairyland Community Action Agency, 418 Wisconsin St., Eau Claire.
    • Tuesdays and Thursdays until April 15, 1-4 p.m.: RCU Bellinger Street office, 1512 Bellinger St., Eau Claire.
    • Wednesdays until April 9, 1-4 p.m.: UW-Eau Claire, Schneider Hall, Room 314.

Counseling Services announces education and support group schedule
UW-Eau Claire Counseling Services will offer the following sessions during the spring 2008 semester:

    • Assertiveness Training: 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 5-April 16.
    • Body Love: 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 12-April 23.
    • First Offenders Alcohol Education Groups: These groups will be offered on an as-needed basis by Counseling Services staff.
    • Grief Support Group: 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays, March 25-April 8.
    • Self-Management Skills: 2-3:30 p.m. Mondays, March 3-April 21.
    • Veterans' Support Group: 3-4 p.m. Tuesdays, March 11-May 6.
