kids reading a bookUniversity Bookstore Book Collection. The University Bookstore is working with the Friends of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in its Give a Kid a Book project for 2006. The University Bookstore will begin accepting books today, and will offer discounts on clothing and gift purchases to those who make donations. The bookstore will forward donations to the Friends of the Library on Dec. 14, but will continue to accept donations through Dec. 22. University Bookstore hours are available online. McIntyre Library logoMcIntyre Library Exhibit. An exhibit of posters illustrating UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff publications from the previous year will be on display in the Grand Corridor of McIntyre Library through Jan. 21. The posters were originally displayed at the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs/McIntyre Library-sponsored Authors Celebration in October. The event featured 40 recently published faculty and staff members and celebrated the publishing accomplishments of all UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff.

BFA show logoFoster Gallery Exhibit. Works by five UW-Eau Claire bachelor of fine arts degree candidates will be on display through Dec. 15 in the Foster Gallery of the Haas Fine Arts Center. "The Cripple of Inishmaan" graphic University Theatre. Featuring Martin McDonagh's "The Cripple of Inishmaan," directed by Terry Allen. Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland in 1934, the play is a strange comic tale in the great tradition of Irish storytelling. Holiday Concert graphic32nd Annual Holiday Concerts. The free concerts, which have been the department of music and theatre arts and the UW-Eau Claire Foundation's gift to the Eau Claire community for more than three decades, will feature performances by the Symphonic Choir, Symphony Orchestra, The Singing Statesmen, Women's Concert Chorale, Concert Choir and Wind Symphony. In conjunction with the concert, the UW-Eau Claire chapter of Mortar Board will collect new children's books for the Give-a-Kid-a-Book program. Audience members are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped children's book to donate. Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance at the Service Center or online.
