Spring and summer utility outages announced
The spring 2007 steam outage will be held from 6 p.m. Saturday, May 19, through 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007.
The outage will result in the following:
• No air conditioning in Hilltop Center.
• No potable hot water except in Chancellors, Thomas and Murray Halls; all Hall Directors' apartments, Zorn Arena, Brewer Hall, Human Sciences and Services, McIntyre Library, Nursing, Crest Commons and Haas Fine Arts Center (isolated areas).
The summer 2007 planned electrical outage is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007 (Aug.12 in case of inclement weather). The effect of this outage will be that Davies Center, Schofield Hall, Hibbard Hall and Zorn Arena/Brewer Hall/Campus School will be without electrical power for a portion of the day.
These annually-occurring utility outages allow for preventive maintenance and repairs that prevent unplanned emergency outages due to breakdowns. Another notice of the outages will be distributed in a late April or early May 2007 "Facilities Maintenance Periods" e-mail message. For more information, contact Terry Classen at firstname.lastname@example.org or 836-5278.
