Ali Abootalebi, political science, was quoted in the Oct. 5 Leader-Telegram article "UW-Eau Claire professor to speak on Middle East." UW-Eau Claire alumna Marti Mogensen was quoted in the article "School violence a tie that binds" in the Oct. 4 issue of The Capital Times. The article also mentions the UW-Eau Claire lecture series that Mogensen and her sister, Margaret Nelson, created to honor their father, Martin Mogensen, a UW-Eau Claire alumnus who was killed in 1969 by a student in the Tomah school where he served as principal. UW-Eau Claire history students were mentioned in the Oct. 4 Leader-Telegram article "County prepares celebration," about Eau Claire County's sesquicentennial celebration. Michael Howe, mathematics, and Carole Halberg, Chancellor's Office/Foundation, were quoted in the Oct. 3 wistechnology.com article "UW-Eau Claire wins $500,000 federal science grant — Money will support scholarships in the STEM disciplines." Chuck Tomkovick, management and marketing, was featured in the Oct. 3 Leader-Telegram column "Professor out front at parade." Peggy O'Halloran, Center for Alcohol Studies and Education, and Jodi Thesing-Ritter, Student Development and Diversity, were quoted in the Oct. 3 Leader-Telegram article "Moderating a party — La Crosse student death to have effect on UW-EC events." John Mann, history, was quoted in the Oct. 2 Leader-Telegram article "History northern style — New society office offers advice." Bill Cosby's Parents Weekend shows at UW-Eau Claire were the subject of the Sept. 30 Leader-Telegram article "Audience gives Cosby rave review — Jokes about family, aging score laughs." Marty Wood, English, and UW-Eau Claire student Bonnie Maczka were quoted in the Sept. 27 Leader-Telegram article "Steinem seeks return to gender equality — Efforts of women remain devalued in United States, around the world." Tanya Falbel and Joseph Rohrer, biology, were quoted in the Sept. 27 Leader-Telegram article "Fall colors attracting attention." |
