Rodd Freitag, political science, was quoted in the Sept. 17 Leader-Telegram article "Region's swing voters targeted." Justin Patchin, political science, along with fellow cyberbullying expert Sameer Hinduja of Florida Atlantic University, was quoted in the Sept. 17 Associated Press article "Oregon schools try to address cyberbullies." Paul Kaldjian, geography, and Ed Young, economics, were quoted in the Sept. 16 Leader-Telegram article "City invites 'creative class' to spark economy." Morton Sipress (emeritus), political science, was quoted in the Sept. 16 Leader-Telegram article "Local activists critique debate." John Means, UW-Eau Claire women's golf coach; Scott Kilgallon, director of athletics; and golf team members Meghan Sobotta and Kate Borman were quoted in the Sept. 15 Leader-Telegram article "Fresh starts: Ex-Minnesota coach giving UW-EC an edge." Heather Pearson, Admissions, was quoted in the Sept. 13 Leader-Telegram article "Entry policies changed — UW schools say practice isn't new." Colleen Marchwick, Center for International Education, was interviewed for the Sept. 13 WQOW-TV story "Travel Trend: More Students Search for Overseas Education." Bob Hollon, curriculum and instruction, was interviewed for the Sept. 13 WQOW-TV story "New Study Dismisses Value of Homework."

Justin Patchin, political science, was quoted in the Sept.13 Kansas City Star article "The Net is newest tool for teenage torment; Cyber-bullying — in e-mail, chat rooms, blogs and instant messages — is increasing, and it changes the adolescent pecking order." UW-Eau Claire students Carrie Peterson and Anna Gates, both veterans of the Iraq war, were quoted in the Sept. 9 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article "Changing of the Guard — Five years after Sept. 11, state soldiers are working, fighting on new fronts.” UW-Eau Claire student
