'Pink Sheet' Notice of Meetings

Seniors' Secret Santa raises more than $4,300
"Seniors' Secret Santa," a holiday fundraising project sponsored by the UW-Eau Claire student organization Career Services-Charitable Outreach, raised $4,349.22 during November and December to benefit area seniors in need during the 2006 holiday season. UW-Eau Claire faculty, staff and students contributed to the project through participation in the Schofield Showdown, a penny collection/competition between offices in Schofield Hall, which raised $933.86; individual donations totaling $1,898; and a candy cane sale that raised $17.36. Winners in the Schofield Showdown were Purchasing in first place, the Registrar's Office in second place and Accounting in third place.

The funds raised through "Seniors' Secret Santa" were matched with $1,500 from area grocery chain Mega Pick 'N Save. The chain then used the total raised to purchase and distribute grocery debit cards to area seniors identified as having extremely limited financial means.

Information sessions on Tax-Sheltered Annuity Program continue
The UW System Tax-Sheltered Annuity Program is a supplemental retirement savings program authorized by section 403(b) of the Internal Revenue Code. All UW System employees are eligible to participate, and employees can enroll at any time.

Representatives from the following companies will be in the Human Resources office (Schofield 220) to meet with employees during February and March.
