Jill Pinkney Pastrana, foundations of education; Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich; student Teresa Arnold; Terry Classen, facilities planning and management; Robert Hollon, curriculum and instruction; Katherine Rhoades, College of Education and Human Sciences; and Andrew Soll, vice chancellor for business and student services, were quoted in the Jan. 28 Leader-Telegram article "Building blocks for the future: UW-EC plans new education facility." Chuck Tomkovick, management and marketing, was quoted in the Jan. 27 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article "Ads the real stars of Super Bowl." Carole Halberg, UW-Eau Claire Foundation, was quoted in the Jan. 26 Beaver Dam Daily Citizen article "New scholarship offered to BDHS students" about a scholarship established in memory of
Jerry Ehrmeyer,
a UW-Eau Claire alumnus and former
assistant director of the university's Career Services office. The History of Indian Occupancy Report, compiled by James Oberly, history, was quoted in the Jan. 26 Beloit Daily News article "Ho-Chunk Nation objects to casino again." Mike Rindo, university communications, was quoted in the Jan. 25 Spectator article "UW-Eau Claire seeks nanotechnology funding." A link to the article was posted Jan. 25 on the Nanotechnology Now Web site. Charles Vue, Office of Multicultural Affairs, and his son, Andrew, were interviewed for the WEAU-TV story "Bringing Hmong History Closer to Home." Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich was interviewed for the Jan. 24 Associated Press article "GOP state senators propose income tax cut, other initiatives." UW-Eau Claire student Collin Hawkins was quoted in the Jan. 24 Leader-Telegram story "President's domestic agenda greeted coolly." The Nano-STEM Initiative, which would provide appropriations to UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout and the Chippewa Valley Technical College, encouraging their cooperative effort to progress in nanotechnology, was the subject of the Jan. 23 Wisconsin Radio Network story "Nanotechnology gets GOP support." UW-Eau Claire alumnus Spencer Peck was featured in the Jan. 10 Leader-Telegram article "Above and beyond — Actions on bridge put man among local heroes." Spencer will receive an American Red Cross-Chippewa Valley chapter Real Hero Award Feb. 1. His mother, Sue Peck, adult health nursing, nominated Spencer for the award. |
