Cabaret Platinum XXVIII logoTickets on Sale for Cabaret XXVII. Tickets will go on sale today for Cabaret XXVII, which will be performed Jan. 19-21 and 26-28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center. Performances also are scheduled for 2 p.m. Jan. 21 and 28. The theme for this year's production is Cabaret Platinum. Music featured will be from artists' albums that reached platinum status, selling over one-million copies. Tickets for the show and dinner, available at the Service Center, are $30.50 for the public, including UW-Eau Claire faculty/staff; $24.50 for those 62 and older or 17 and younger; or $23.50 for UW-Eau Claire students. Show-only tickets are $17 for the public, including UW-Eau Claire faculty/staff; $11 for those 62 and older or 17 and younger; or $10 for UW-Eau Claire students. Full story.

'Caring Cans' Food Drive. University Dining Services is leading "Caring Cans," a canned food drive to benefit the Feed My People food bank in Eau Claire. Now through Wednesday, Dec. 21, Sodexho Campus Services invites those visiting its campus dining facilities to bring nonperishable food items to collection areas in Davies Center (Marketplace) and Hilltop Center (Riverview Cafe, Hilltop Center Food Court). Two exhibits will run concurrently: "Holy Sites/Sights," a selection of photographs by faculty and students of the Hartford Art School documenting archaeological excavations in Israel; and an exhibit of works by five UW-Eau Claire bachelor of fine arts degree candidates. Both exhibits will be on display through Dec. 21. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and 1 to 4:30 p.m. weekends. McIntyre Library Display. An exhibit titled "McIntyre Library Puts a Book in Your Hands" traces the process by which a university press publishes a book, and how staff members in collection development, cataloging and circulation areas of the library acquire the book and make it accessible to patrons. The exhibit, designed by Jan Bogstad, McIntyre Library/Women's Studies; Jim Oberly, history/American Indian Studies; Ross Guida, UW-Eau Claire student/Blugold Fellow; and John McCrackin, McIntyre Library, will be on display through Dec. 15 in the Grand Corridor of McIntyre Library.

graduation capWinter Commencement. Winter commencement exercises for 685 UW-Eau Claire students will be held in Zorn Arena. Candidates from the College of Arts and Sciences and candidates for master's degrees will receive degrees during a 9:30 a.m. ceremony. Candidates from the College of Business, College of Education and Human Sciences, and College of Nursing and Health Sciences will receive degrees during a 2 p.m. ceremony.
