Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. Tess Onwueme, English, was featured in an article titled "Nigerian presents literary view of global politics" in the Nov. 18 issue of Central Michigan Life, a publication of Central Michigan University. UW-Eau Claire alumna Laura Dean, now a graduate student at the University of Washington-Seattle, was quoted in an article titled “Culture comes alive in HUB ballroom” in the Nov. 17 issue of The Daily, a publication of the university. Patti See, Academic Skills Center, was interviewed about living organ donation for a WAYY radio show which aired Nov. 17. She also was interviewed on WQOW-TV Nov. 16 for a story on the same topic. Dick Boyum (emeritus), Counseling Services, was interviewed on WEAU-TV Nov. 16 for a story about the viability of speed dating. A new scholarship fund for members of the Blugold Marching Band, which was established by Northwestern Bank, was the topic of a Nov. 16 WQOW-TV story. David Jones, English, a community columnist for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, had his article titled "Rise above 'legacy of inequality'" published in the Nov. 13 issue of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Kevin Jones, Small Business Development Center was featured in the Nov. 13 Leader-Telegram article "Adviser coached business success — After 13 years, Jones leaves center."
UW-Eau Claire student Tony Eichberger was quoted in the Nov. 12 Arkansas News Bureau article "Lincoln for president?"
Rep. Rob Kriebich's Nov. 12 visit to UW-Eau Claire to discuss a bill that would allow an additional student to join the UW System board was the subject of a Nov. 12 WQOW-TV story.
