Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. Rick Mickelson, Learning and Technology Services, curator of the current Foster Gallery exhibit "Common Ground: From Eau Claire to Excellence," was quoted in the Oct. 20 Leader-Telegram article "Celebrity photographer aims to put subjects at ease — UW-EC grads' work appears in magazines, newspapers." UW-Eau Claire alumnus Tony Duran, one of the photographers whose work is displayed in the exhibit, was quoted in the article. UW-Eau Claire student and volleyball team co-captain Molly Menard and volleyball coach Lisa Herb, kinesiology, were quoted in the Oct. 20 Leader-Telegram article "Menard shines in sweep of River Falls." Ingolf Vogeler, geography and anthropology, was quoted in an article titled "Amish May Be Good Neighbors, but Not Their Horses," which was published in the Oct. 18 issue of The New York Times. Susan Turell, Women's Studies/psychology, was interviewed on Madison's "The MIC" radio station Oct. 15. She discussed same-sex domestic violence and sexual assault during the station's weekly LGBT call-in show. UW-Eau Claire alumnus William Klish, a physician and expert on childhood obesity, was quoted in the Oct. 14 Leader-Telegram article "Expert: Childhood obesity an epidemic." Klish gave a presentation on campus Oct. 13. Kelly Murray, biology, also was quoted in the article. Mitra Sadeghpour, music and theatre arts, was mentioned in the Oct. 14 Leader-Telegram article "Guild is alive with 'Sound of Music' — Staging gives fans what they want: nuns, Nazis and singing children." Sadeghpour portrayed Maria in the production. |
