The 30th Annual Indianhead Area Special Olympics Bowling Tournament, hosted by UW-Eau Claire, Wagner's Lanes and Bowl Winkles, was featured in an Oct. 8 WQOW-TV story. UW-Eau Claire Student Senate President Aaron Olson and Student Senate member Avril Flaten were quoted in the Oct. 6 Leader-Telegram article "Students ask bars to delay opening Homecoming raises concerns." The UW-Eau Claire football team was mentioned in the Oct. 6 Leader-Telegram article "Through the neighborhoods — City students take a hike during walk to school event." Chancellor Emeritus Donald Mash was quoted in the Oct. 5 Leader-Telegram article "War won't end soon, Ridge says — Former Homeland Security secretary visits region." UW-Eau Claire students Hollie Moe and Shawna Mauldin were quoted in the Oct. 4 Leader-Telegram article "Lawton: Women leaving Wisconsin." UW-Eau Claire student Anna Wicklund was interviewed on WQOW-TV Oct. 3 for a story about UW-Eau Claire's OctSOBERfest activities. Sarah Harvieux, Health Services; Nina Albanese-Kotar, Center for Alcohol Studies and Education/Counseling Services; and UW-Eau Claire student Ashley Borman were quoted in the Oct. 2 Leader-Telegram article "Thinking sober thoughts," about UW-Eau Claire's OctSOBERfest activities. Dale B. Taylor (emeritus), public health professions, recently was appointed to the Board on Aging and Long Term Care by Gov. Jim Doyle. Taylor's appointment was cited in the Sept. 30 Leader-Telegram article "State Appointments. " Joey Bohl, Admissions, was quoted in the Sept. 30 Leader-Telegram article "Planning their futures — Students look beyond high school with visit to college education fair," about about the Wisconsin Education Fair held Sept. 29 and 30 at UW-Eau Claire. Laura Chellman, Health Services, was quoted in the Sept. 30 Leader-Telegram article "Flu vaccine will be plentiful — No shortage expected this year." |
