Dick Boyum (emeritus), Counseling Services, will appear on the WEAU-TV morning show Sept. 16 to discuss "compassion fatigue" and Sept. 23 to discuss the importance of friendship. He also appeared on the same show Sept. 8 to discuss post-traumatic stress and storm paranoia in relation to hurricane victims in the Gulf Coast region. In addition, Boyum had his article "Risk-Taking Moment Makes Precious Memory" published in the religion section of the Aug. 31 Dunn County News. Go to top of page

Alexandre Dossin will perform the “Verdi-Liszt Paraphrases” live on Wisconsin Public Radio Sept. 18 as part of the Sunday Afternoon Live from the Chazen concert series. The performance can be heard on WUEC, 89.7 FM, at 12:30 p.m. Go to top of page

Deborah Pattee, curriculum and instruction, will be a guest on Wisconsin Public Radio Sept. 13 to discuss her summer trip to Southeast Asia. The show can be heard on WHWC, 88.3 FM, from 5 to 6 p.m. Go to top of page

UW-Eau Claire student Claire Lindstrom was mentioned in the Sept. 10 Oshkosh Northwestern article "Students serving in 1157th put class on hold for relief." Lindstrom is a member of the Wisconsin National Guard’s 132nd Support Company and was called to active duty to assist with the hurricane relief effort in the New Orleans area.

Sharon Sabatke, Continuing Education, was quoted in the Sept. 9 St. Paul Pioneer Press article "Conference focuses on region's big neighbor," about the 2005 Synergy Conference to be hosted by UW-Eau Claire Sept. 14-15 in Eau Claire. Sabatke is the Synergy Conference program manager. Go to top of page

Mary Ryan-Miller, Student Development and Diversity, was interviewed for the Sept. 7 Chippewa Herald article "Flying back from Iraq to disaster." UW-Eau Claire student Sydney Dun, who was studying at the University of New Orleans through the National Student Exchange program when Hurricane Katrina hit, also was mentioned in the article.
