Doug Dunham and Kim Pierson, physics and astronomy, and Phillip Ihinger, geology, were quoted in the Aug. 21 Leader-Telegram article "Material Support — UW-Eau Claire offers help to local businesses," about UW-Eau Claire's Materials Science Center. Patti See, Academic Skills Center/Women's Studies, was featured in the Aug. 21 Leader-Telegram article "Eau Claire woman saves life by donating kidney anonymously." Paul Kaldjian, geography and anthropology, was quoted in the Aug. 21 Leader-Telegram article "All pumped up — Drivers react differently to climbing gas prices" (posted online as Part I and Part II). UW-Eau Claire's online MBA program was mentioned in the Aug. 19 Forbes.com article “Best Business Schools — Click and Learn.” UW-Eau Claire’s latest ranking in U.S. News & World Report magazine was the subject of the Aug. 19 Leader-Telegram article “UW-EC on list of top schools.” Jodi Thesing-Ritter, Student Development and Diversity, and P.J. Kennedy, Counseling Services, were quoted in an Aug. 18 Wisconsin Public Radio story "UW-Eau Claire receives grant to reduce binge drinking," about the $300,000 U.S. Department of Education grant awarded to UW-Eau Claire to launch a program aimed at reducing rates of drinking among first-year students. UW-Eau Claire student Lori Scardino, the recipient of UW-Eau Claire's Kell Container Scholarship — the university's largest scholarship, was featured in an Aug. 17 WQOW-TV story. Steve Tallant, Academic Affairs, was interviewed on WQOW-TV Aug. 9 for a story about a bill currently in the Wisconsin Senate, which would punish academic advisers at UW System schools if students don't graduate on schedule. James Oberly, history, was quoted in the Aug. 6 Beloit Daily News article "Tribal gaming survey finds casino here won't hurt others." Odawa White, Multicultural Affairs, was quoted in the Aug. 5 Leader-Telegram article "An early view - UW-Eau Claire program aimed at Indians." Susan Turell, Women's Studies/psychology, was featured in an Aug. 2 WQOW-TV story about her recent award from the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. A new product launched by Fresh Software, a company founded by UW-Eau Claire student Andrew Niese, was featured in the Aug. 2 Pressbox article "Fresh software announces Sentry 2.5." |
