Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. Interim Chancellor Vicki Lord Larson was featured in the May 11 Leader-Telegram article "Larson steps aside for new UW-EC chief." Ivar Lunde Jr. (emeritus), music and theatre arts, was featured in the May 11 Leader-Telegram article "Youth orchestra conductor to pass baton after 25 years." UW-Eau Claire student Peter Chang also was quoted in the article. Joseph Rohrer, biology, was quoted in the May 11 Leader-Telegram article "Tread lightly — Region’s wildflowers deserve our respect." Research on cyberbullying by Justin Patchin, political science, and Sameer Hinduja (Florida Atlantic University) was featured in a May United Press International article, which was published by various media throughout the country. A related article also was published in Newswise. Leslie Huntington, UW-Eau Claire's head softball coach, and UW-Eau Claire student Mandy Tschernach were quoted in the May 9 Leader-Telegram article "UW-EC softball garners top seed." UW-Eau Claire student Chris Porterfield was quoted in the May 9 Leader-Telegram article "Language guru has words of advice," about the May 8 Forum presentation by Richard Lederer.
UW-Eau Claire students Ashley Gildner, Emily Ellis and Katrina Rademacher were quoted in the May 9 Leader-Telegram article "Acting like kids — UW-EC students help grade schoolers." Blake Weghorn, a patient who works with faculty and students from UW-Eau Claire’s music therapy program, was featured in a May 6 WQOW-TV story. More information. |
