Worker’s compensation training to be offered
April 6
UW-Eau Claire supervisors are invited to attend a training session about the worker’s compensation program at UW-Eau Claire. The session will be held Thursday, April 6, from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Wisconsin Room of Davies Center.

Dawn Hass, the UW System worker’s compensation claims examiner, and Sheri Ackley, director of UW System’s Office of Safety and Loss Prevention, will give a short presentation on worker’s compensation and how it pertains to supervisors. The following will be discussed during the session:

    • What are my responsibilities as a supervisor when an injury occurs?
    • What should I look for when investigating the incident?
    • What claims are compensable and how is that determined?
    • What benefits do employees receive under worker’s compensation?
    • What are the advantages of an early return to work program?
    • What are the top ten claim types at UW-Eau Claire?
