Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. Karen Welch, English, was interviewed for the March 1 WQOW-TV story "Text Trouble: College Students Face Reading Problems." Geoff Peterson, political science, was quoted in the Feb. 28 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article "Same-sex marriage goes to voters — Measure to define marriage as being between man, woman will be on Nov. 7 ballot." Peterson also was interviewed for the Feb. 28 WQOW-TV story "Voters to Decide: Assembly Approves Same-Sex Amendment." Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton's visit to UW-Eau Claire Feb. 28 was the subject of the WEAU-TV story "Lieutenant Governor Visits Eau Claire." Chip Eckardt, Learning and Technology Services, was quoted in an article titled "Colleges subscribe to music service," which appeared online at kaleo.org Feb. 27. Alexandre Dossin, music and theatre arts, was featured in an article titled "Never too much Mozart: String Orchestra of the Rockies offers tribute to giant of classical music" in the Feb. 26 issue of The Missoulian. Charles Vue, Multicultural Affairs, was quoted in the Feb. 24 Leader-Telegram article "Residents can learn about Hmong culture — Annual banquet encourages fellowship in the community." Ed Young, economics, was quoted in the Feb. 23 Leader-Telegram article "Low wages persist — Professor: Even good jobs pay less in EC area." |
