Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. Bob Baca, music and theatre arts, was featured in an article titled "A man of note" in the December 2004 issue of Wisconsin West magazine. The $100,000 grant received by the Jumpstart Program at UW-Eau Claire was the subject of a Nov. 23 WEAU-TV story. John Hildebrand, English, was quoted in the Nov. 25 Duluth News Tribune article "Almost a quarter of Wisconsin Hmong had hunting licenses in '03." He also was quoted in the Nov. 23 Leader-Telegram article "Hmong advised to skip hunt for rest of season — Racial tensions could increase after killings. " Thomas Miller, history; Brady Foust, geography and anthropology; and Chancellor Donald Mash were quoted in the Nov. 22 Leader-Telegram article "UW-ECs first Rhodes Scholar lauded for hard work," about Chauncy Harris Jr., UW-Eau Claire's first Rhodes Scholar. Susan Turell, women's studies/psychology, was interviewed Nov. 19 for a WQOW-TV story about inequities in pay for women in Wisconsin. |
