Staff encouraged to use online form for Foundation account funds
The UW-Eau Claire Foundation recently implemented a new online Disbursement Authorization Form for payments from Foundation accounts only.

"We've been trying to streamline and standardize the payment procedures," said Robin Leary, program assistant in the Foundation Office. "This form should make it easier for everyone."

To access the form, click here or go to the UW-Eau Claire home page (www.uwec.edu ). Find Foundation by clicking "F" under the A-Z index. Click Foundation forms then Disbursement authorization form. Instructions are on the form.

This Disbursement Authorization Form only is for funds from Foundation accounts and should not be used for university Accounts Payable transactions.

WHE continues annual gift project
For the past 14 years Women in Higher Education has sponsored the Holiday Gift Program, a gift giving project for low-income, nontraditional-age and traditional-age students and their families. Last year's project reached 100 children, representing 49 families.

WHE recently sent a mailing to nontraditional-age students inviting them to place their names on a gift "wish" list. The project also is open to traditional-age students who are parents, but since it's difficult to identify those among that group who may be interested in participating, your assistance in forwarding their names would be appreciated.

Students who respond are asked to provide the ages of their children and their choice of gifts (a toy, article of clothing, etc.) up to $15 per person.

If you would like to participate in the WHE Gift Giving project, or if you know of any students needing assistance this holiday season, contact Patti See at seepk@uwec.edu or 836-4826 by Nov. 19.

During the following week, you will be sent instructions for providing a gift for a student's child.

Those participating are asked to bring their wrapped packages to a designated area in McIntyre Library by Dec. 2.

WUEC announcements
Program proposal applications for WUEC-FM currently are available in the Communication and Journalism Office, Hibbard 152. If you are interested in proposing a program for the campus radio station, please complete the application and submit it to Dean Kallenbach, manager, WUEC-FM. The address is indicated on the application.

The WUEC-FM Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for noon, Nov. 22 in Hibbard 180. For more information, contact Judy Sims, chair of the advisory board, at simsjr@uwec.edu or 836-3267.

Notice about use of U.S. Postal Service drop boxes
Representatives from the U.S. Postal Service in Eau Claire have notified UW-Eau Claire officials about a problem postal workers have encountered with mail from UW-Eau Claire. Fliers from a number of campus organizations and offices have been placed in U.S. Postal Service drop boxes without postage. Please be sure to place mail for on-campus and off-campus distribution in the correct locations.

Invitation to participate in review of University Centers and Programs
A review of University Centers and Programs will be conducted Nov. 15 and 16 by a committee made up of the following members: Thomas Patt, University Recreation, chair; J. Erik Hendrickson, physics and astronomy; Jodi Thesing-Ritter, Student Development and Diversity; and Jacqueline Kriesel, Business Services. Open sessions to gather feedback will be held in Davies Center. If you would like to participate in a group session, contact Dorothy Nelson at nelsondo@uwec.edu or 836-5182. You also may contact any of the committee members to share comments or suggestions about University Centers and Programs.

Trip to Chanhassen Dinner Theater planned
University Recreation is planning a trip to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater Feb. 10, 2005, for a performance of the musical comedy "Anything Goes." The cost of the trip is $50 per person and includes round-trip transportation from campus, dinner and front-row seating for the show.
