Chancellor Donald Mash; Selika Ducksworth-Lawton, history; and Kent Syverson, geology, were quoted in the Nov. 11 Leader-Telegram editorial "UW-EC: Remain firm on service learning," by Doug Mell, managing editor. Traci Regis, Center for Awareness of Sexual Assault, was interviewed for a Nov. 8 WEAU-TV story about services available through CASA. UW-Eau Claire student Amber Miller, who is participating in a study abroad program in Vietnam, was quoted in the Nov. 7 Washington Post article "Not Someone Else's War — In Vietnam, an American student confronts the ugliness of one war and prepares for what she could lose in another." Rodd Freitag, political science, was quoted in the Nov. 7 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article "Turnover in Madison is mostly by choice — Numerous lawmakers leave, though few are tossed out by voters." Steve Tallant, Academic Affairs; Kent Syverson, geology; Don Mowry, Center for Service-Learning; and UW-Eau Claire student Jesse Navara were quoted in the Associated Press article "UW-Eau Claire: No religious recruiting for volunteers," which appeared in the Nov. 7 Duluth (Minn.) News Tribune. Robert Nowlan, English, was quoted in the Nov. 5 Leader-Telegram article "Film proposal panned by critics — School weighs policy on R-rated movies." Susan Haugen, accounting and finance, was featured in the fall 2004 issue of the Journal of Computer Information Systems. Haugen recently was named the 2004 Computer Educator of the Year.
