Dick Boyum, emeritus, Counseling Services, will discuss coping strategies for living in a stressful world on the Wisconsin Public Radio show "Conversations with Larry Meiller" Oct. 19. The show can be heard on WHWC, 88.3 FM from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Boyum's portion of the show will begin at 11:45 a.m. Go to top of page

Dale Taylor, emeritus, public health professions, was interviewed on Wisconsin Public Radio Oct. 14 about how music can promote positive changes in the psychological, physical and social function of humans. Go to top of page

Nita Johnson, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and UW-Eau Claire nursing students Toni Lerick and Kelly Blaskey were quoted in the Oct. 13 Leader-Telegram article "A born teacher," about the new birthing simulator and other simulators used at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Bill Frankenberger, psychology/Human Development Center, was quoted in the Oct. 11 Leader-Telegram article "Boys & Girls Club offers tutoring — University students lend helping hands." UW-Eau Claire students will tutor school-age children during the new "Power Hour" program at the Boys & Girls Club in Eau Claire. Rick Zahalka, a UW-Eau Claire nontraditional nursing student and nursing intern at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, had his article titled "Old idea — new career," published in the June 2004 issue of the hospital's in-house publication, "Spectrum." Go to top of page
