Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. UW-Eau Claire graduate Kuo Thao, now a graphic designer in the College of Business, was featured in the Sept. 16 Leader-Telegram article "Educational emphasis — Graphic designer heeded parents' words." Gretchen Hutterli, College of Business, also was quoted in the article. Ali Abootalebi, political science, was interviewed on Wisconsin Public Radio Sept. 15 about issues in Iran. He also was interviewed for a Sept. 10 WQOW-TV story about the increase in enrollment in political science classes at UW-Eau Claire since fall 2001. UW-Eau Claire graduate Tracy Wendland was quoted in an article titled "Sept. 11 returns to a normal day for many students" in the Sept. 13 issue of mndaily.com. UW-Eau Claire student Andrew Niese was featured in the Sept. 12 Leader-Telegram article "Home work — A UW-Eau Claire junior operates a software company from his bedroom," about Niese's software company, Fresh Software, which he founded in 1998. John Melrose, management information systems, also is quoted in the article. Rodd Freitag, political science, was quoted in an Associated Press article titled "Voters will decide candidates for Congress, state Legislature" which appeared in the Sept. 12 issue of The Mercury News, San Jose, Calif. UW-Eau Claire graduate Scott Pingel was featured in the Sept. 10 San Francisco Chronicle article "Scott Pingel had to choose: Miles or Mozart? Now he's starting as the new principal bassist for the S.F. Symphony." Other news of interest |
