Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration before their articles can be viewed online. Rodd Freitag, political science, was quoted in the May 15 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article "GOP continues push on voter IDs: Candidates for governor likely to keep issue a political battlefield."
UW-Eau Claire alumnus Jerry Poling and Selika Ducksworth-Lawton, history, were quoted in the May 12 Leader-Telegram article "Finding a common connection — Memorial student among residents featured in Aaron film." Dick Boyum (emeritus) Counseling Services, was interviewed on WQOW-TV May 12 about preparing soon-to-be university graduates for life after college. Boyum and UW-Eau Claire student Emily Leitner also were interviewed on WQOW-TV May 6 for a story about the psychological impact of the Internet, including Web sites such as thefacebook.com, on college students. Carole Halberg, Foundation, was quoted in the May 11 Leader-Telegram article "Anonymous gift aids university programs." UW-Eau Claire student Jessica Janiuk was interviewed on WQOW-TV May 11 for a story about a diversity rally she organized in Eau Claire. UW-Eau Claire's Student Research Day, held April 25 and 26, was featured in the May 6 Monroe Times article "UW student award winners announced." Chris Lind, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs; Ruth Cronje, English; Marc Goulet, mathematics; and UW-Eau Claire students Rebecca Hutchinson, Danielle Aaenenson and Lindsay Duwell were mentioned in the article. |
