See the Board of Regents Policy 88-2, "Search and Screen Procedures for Chancellors," and the UW System's "Responsibilities and Procedures for Search and Screen Committees for Chancellors." "Oklahoma State is considered one of the best student unions nationally.” The new position also provides Kilcrease and his wife the opportunity to be closer to home and family. Kilcrease has been acting as staff adviser to the Davies Center Exploratory Committee examining issues and alternatives relating to Davies Center and University Recreation facilities. University Recreation Director Thomas Patt, who also has been participating in the committee proceedings, will remain involved to provide continuity. The search for a new director of University Centers and Programs will begin immediately. Alumni gift creates biology grant program
An opportunity fund grant program for UW-Eau Claire biology students has been created through a $20,000 endowed gift from Steve and Julie Henseler to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation's Fulfilling the Promise of Excellence campaign.
The fund will provide grants for biology students to pursue activities outside the classroom that enhance their education.
Students must develop a project proposal and budget and establish a mentor relationship to qualify for a grant.
The Henselers received their bachelor's degrees in biology from UW-Eau Claire in 1989. Full story. WCME library to be named for Morris D. Hayes
The Wisconsin Center for Music Education — a state-of-the-art center that will provide music teachers, students and community members with innovative music education programs and resources — will name one of its libraries after a UW-Eau Claire professor emeritus of music. The Center, which is slated to open in July in Waunakee, will include the Morris D. Hayes Choral Library, named after the man who served as the director of choral activities at UW-Eau Claire from 1966-1987. "I deeply appreciate the honor that has been bestowed upon me," Hayes said of the library, which is being built by the Wisconsin School Music Association. "I owe it all to those talented students who I had the privilege to work with at UW-Eau Claire. Their preparation before entering the university can be credited to the excellence of the music programs in the public schools." A state and national leader in music education during his years at UW-Eau Claire, Hayes is donating his personal music collection to the Center, which is the first facility of its kind in the country. Full story. New Web design catches on across campus
Page by page, UW-Eau Claire's Web site is transforming from a conglomeration of many looks to a collection of subsites with a more unified appearance. Many departmental and administrative Web sites have been redesigned in the months since a new design for the university's top-level pages was released last June. View a listing of some of those redesigned sites. As summer approaches, departments and units interested in updating their Web sites using the new campus Web site design templates can do so with assistance from Web Development Services. Read more about how to get started and how Web Development staff can help you update the look of your Web site. Online calendar of events: Are your events posted?
