Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. Lawrence Martin, American Indian Studies; and Odawa White, Office of Multicultural Affairs; will discuss the influence of the Native American communities in west central Wisconsin on Wisconsin Public Radio April 7. The show will be broadcast live from 9 to 11 a.m. and can be heard on WHWC, 88.3 FM. Kathy Sahloff, Financial Aid, and UW-Eau Claire student Emilie Rabbitt were interviewed on WQOW-TV March 30 for a story about Congressman Ron Kind's visit to UW-Eau Claire to discuss the Higher Education Act. Alexandre Dossin, music and theatre arts, was featured in the March 29 Winchester (Va.) Star article “World of Piano Series Features All-Liszt Recital.” UW-Eau Claire student Missy King was interviewed on WQOW-TV March 29 for a story about Cinderella’s Closet, a prom dress donation program run by UW-Eau Claire’s Phi Alpha social work honor society.
Helaine Minkus, geography and anthropology, and UW-Eau Claire student Avisha Nair were quoted in the March 29 Leader-Telegram article “Unifying holiday spirits – Religious observances promote cultural exchange,” about the Purim/Holi celebration March 30 at UW-Eau Claire. |
