Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. Interim Chancellor Vicki Lord Larson was featured in the March 8 Leader-Telegram article “UW-EC leader wants to focus on excellence.” UW-Eau Claire alumnus Alex Abdurahmanov was featured in the March 7 St. Paul Pioneer Press article “This tutor takes on new subjects with ease — From accounting to English, immigrant student helps others succeed." UW-Eau Claire student Brian Vander Kamp was quoted on WEAU-TV March 7 for a story about a UW System student hunger strike in protest of state budget cuts and tuition increases. Helaine Minkus, geography and anthropology, was quoted in the March 5 Leader-Telegram article “Programs explore Jewish New Moon holiday.” Dan Langlois, University Recreation, was quoted in the March 5 Leader-Telegram article “Getting them hooked — University center attracts students new to outdoors activities.” January Boten, Housing and Residence Life, and several UW-Eau Claire students involved with UW-Eau Claire’s production of “The Vagina Monologues” were quoted in the March 3 Leader-Telegram article “’Vagina’ dialogue — Frank play is designed to spark discussion.” |
