Panel discussion on cheating set for March 3
Faculty and staff are invited to attend a panel discussion titled "What Do We Do About Cheating?" March 3 at noon in the Alumni Room of Davies Center. Panelists include Don Christian, College of Arts and Sciences; Tom Miller, history; Susan Harrison, computer science; Jennifer Shaddock, English; Vicki Whitledge, mathematics; and Allen Keniston, psychology. The discussion is designed to share proactive measures for preventing academic misconduct by students. The panel will discuss the issue of academic misconduct and how it affects our campus. Panelists also will share information about activities, syllabus language and honor code statements that have been used successfully in the classroom. Call for nominations for faculty and academic staff on university committees
Faculty Committees
The University Faculty Nominating Committee currently is seeking nominees for vacancies on university committees to be filled in the spring 2005 election. If you are interested or know of someone who might be interested in serving on any of the following committees contact the Nominating Committee member indicated below. Membership criteria and functions of the various committees may be found in Chapter 3 of the Faculty and Academic Staff Handbook and on the University Senate Web site.

Faculty Committees with Vacancies
    • University Faculty Nominating Committee: contact Marcia Miller-Rodeberg, chemistry, at millerra@uwec.edu or 836-5518.
    • Faculty Termination Review Committee and University Senate Compensation Committee: contact Tim Bawden, geography and anthropology, at bawdent@uwec.edu or 836-5186.
    • Faculty Complaint and Grievance Committee: contact Colin Shaw, geology, at shawca@uwec.edu or 836-4982.
    • University Senate, University Senate Faculty Personnel Committee and Administrative Review Committee: contact Nathan Miller, physics and astronomy, at millerna@uwec.edu or 836-3165.

Nominees are also being sought by the nominating committee for the Faculty Awards Committee. Those names will be forwarded to the chancellor for appointment. If you are interested in this committee, contact Marcia Miller-Rodeberg, chemistry, at millerra@uwec.edu or 836-5518.

The University Academic Staff Nominating Committee currently is seeking nominees for vacancies on university committees to be filled in the spring 2005 election.
