Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. UW-Eau Claire student performers and groups will be showcased during a new Wisconsin Public Radio show, “Blugold Performance of the Air,” beginning Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. on WUEC, 89.7-FM. The program, to be hosted by UW-Eau Claire student Alex Drogseth, will air weekly throughout the academic year. Chancellor Donald Mash was quoted in the Feb. 15 Leader-Telegram article “Officials say search for UW-EC leader should go well — School’s accolades should help attract candidates.” Jodi Thesing-Ritter, Office of Student Development and Diversity, and UW-Eau Claire student and peer diversity educator Sally Trnka were quoted in the Feb. 15 Leader-Telegram article “Different cultures less foreign at folk fair — Diversity stressed at family event” about the folk fair Feb. 8 at Sherman School. The event was co-sponsored by UW-Eau Claire’s peer diversity educators. William Frankenberger, psychology/Human Development Center, was interviewed on WQOW-TV Feb. 15 for a story about Canada’s decision to stop selling Adderall, a drug used to treat attention deficit disorder. Jodi Thesing-Ritter, Office of Student Development and Diversity, and UW-Eau Claire student Angie Johnson were interviewed on WQOW-TV Feb. 11 for a story about UW-Madison students who were fined $73,000 for hosting a house party and serving alcohol to minors. |
