Chancellor Donald Mash was featured in several articles following the announcement of his new appointment as UW System executive senior vice president. Following are links to a sampling of related stories: • The Capital Times, Feb. 4: "Eau Claire chancellor is new UW System VP." Dick Boyum (emeritus), Counseling Services, will be a guest on the Wisconsin Public Radio show "Conversations with Larry Meiller" Feb. 8. The subject of Boyum's segment, which can be heard on 88.3 FM, WHWC, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is "People and Their Pets — The Human-Animal Bond." UW-Eau Claire student Isaac Weix, currently serving in Iraq with the U.S. Marines, had his article titled "A day in the life of a Marine in Iraq" published in the Feb. 3 issue of the Dunn County News. Elaine Wendt, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, was interviewed on WQOW-TV Feb. 1 for a story about the nursing shortage in the United States. Research on Super Bowl advertising by Charles Tomkovick and Rama Yelkur, management and marketing, received coverage in more than 70 media outlets in the United States and abroad over the past few weeks. Tomkovick and Yelkur did more than 20 interviews, most of them during the past 14 days. Ali Abootalebi, political science, and Selika Ducksworth-Lawton, history, were quoted in the Jan. 29 Leader-Telegram article "Voters threatened in Sunni region." Abootalebi also was quoted in the Jan. 29 Leader-Telegram article "Local opinion split on election." |
