Nadine S. St. Louis (emerita) had
her poem titled "Poetry, You Say, Is Slow Talk" published
in the current issue of ByLine magazine. In addition, her three poems
"Things to Do When You Turn Fifty," "Meditations of an
Aging Wife" and "Like Sweet Bells Jangled" have been
accepted for publication in Kaleidoscope.

had his paper titled “A Letter from Ashurbanipal to the Elders
of Elam (BM 132980),” published in the Journal
of Cuneiform Studies, Vol. 54, 2003, pages
79-86. He also had his review of J. Wiesehofer's book "Ancient
Persia from 550 BC to 650 AD," published in the Journal
of the American Oriental Society, Vol.
122, 2003, pages 908-909.

Karen Pope
and Janice Bogstad
participated in a panel presentation titled "Women's Studies On
(the) line: Teaching Technologies in Women's Studies" at the 28th
Annual Conference of the University of Wisconsin Women's Studies Consortium
Oct. 24 at UW-Stout. The presentation was a demonstration and discussion
of the use of online technologies to enhance women's studies classrooms
and pedagogy.

Kristine Fletcher
joined Woodrow Hodges of the Carthage College music department for his
Nov. 15 faculty bassoon recital, the closing event of Double Reed Day
at Carthage College. On Dec. 5 Fletcher and the Cane Mutiny Bassoon
Ensemble performed for the First Fridays program at Christ Church Cathedral
in Eau Claire.

J. Kenneth Davidson Sr.,
Nelwyn B. Moore, Southwest Texas University, and Robert Davis, North
Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, presented a paper
titled "Sexual Behavior and Sexual Risk-Taking of Female and Male
Black College Students" at the annual meeting of the Society for
the Scientific Study of Sex Nov. 6-9 in San Antonio, Texas.

Scottie
Christopherson-Schorn, University Centers
and Programs, and his wife, Beth, announce the birth of daughter Allison
Scotti Christopherson-Schorn on Oct. 14. Allison weighed 5 pounds, 15
ounces, and was 19 inches long.
George Johnson,
University Recreation, and Judy Johnson,
Facilities Planning and Management, announce the birth of their granddaughter,
Chloe Grace Johnson, on Oct. 7 in Champlin, Minn. The baby's parents
are Daniel and Nadine Johnson.
