geography and anthropology, and UW-Eau Claire geography student Bryan
Frenz were quoted in an article titled
"Ground Penetrating Radar Surveys Support Archaeology Dig in
Nazareth" in the winter 2004 issue of ARTIFAX. The article
discusses the research that Jol and Frenz conducted in Israel last
summer using ground penetrating radar. Richard Boyum, Counseling
Services, was interviewed by WEAU-TV for a Compass
report on gaming, gambling and betting. The segment is scheduled to
air March 3. Dennis Knutson,
accounting and finance, was featured in the Feb. 29 Progress 2004,
a supplement to the Chippewa Herald, in an article titled "Professor
lives textbook life on Lake Wissota." Bob Baca, music
and theatre arts, was quoted in the Feb. 25 Oconomowoc Focus article
"'King
of Jazz' to rule over eclectic performance," about his long-time
friend Fred Sturm who is the director of jazz studies at the Lawrence
Conservatory of Music in Appleton. Mary Zwygart-Stauffacher,
nursing systems, was a guest on the Wisconsin Public Radio show "The
West Side, " hosted by Mary Jo Wagner, Feb. 23. Zwygart-Stauffacher
discussed the ideas presented in her book "The New Nursing Homes:
A 20-Minute Way to Find Great Long Term Care." Helaine Minkus,
geography and anthropology, and UW-Eau Claire graduate Stephanie
Zighelboim, were quoted in the Feb. 22 Leader-Telegram article
"Passionate
about a film (I)," about the impact of Mel Gibson's film
"The Passion of the Christ." Eva Santos-Phillips,
foreign languages, and UW-Eau Claire graduate Stephanie
Zighelboim, were quoted in the Feb. 22 Leader-Telegram article
"International
affair," about the International Women's Group of the Chippewa
Valley. Music and theatre arts faculty members Richard
Nimke, Toni Poll-Sorensen and Mitra
Sadeghpour, and UW-Eau Claire students Briana
Hardyman, Max Athorn and Brian Martin
were quoted in the Feb. 22 Leader-Telegram article "Letting
freedom sing," about the University Theatre production of
