Faculty/Academic Staff Forums
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will present Faculty/Academic Staff Forums this spring semester. The programs will be held from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. Wednesdays in the Presidents Room of Davies Center, unless otherwise noted. Bring a brown bag lunch or tray.
      • March 3: Lori Bica and Marie (Mickey) Crothers, psychology, "Campus Sexual Assault Prevention."
      • March 10: Charlene Burns, philosophy and religious studies, "Immoral Acts in the Name of God(s): A View from the Psychology of Religion. Go to top of page

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs announces the following program deadlines for faculty and academic staff.
Program Deadlines:
    The Academic Staff Professional Development Program deadline is March 1.
    • The
Summer Extramural Grant Development Program deadline is March 1.

Dale B. Taylor recently was selected to represent the Great Lakes region on the Assembly of Delegates of the American Music Therapy Association. Go to top of page

Art & Design
Jane Herrick and Bill Benson, emeritus, received honorable mention awards in the ArtsWest 25 juried exhibit at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire. This year 135 artists from 29 communities submitted 226 works to be judged for entry into the show. The exhibit opens March 7 and runs through April 13 at the library. Go to top of page

Counseling Services
Richard Boyum gave a presentation titled "I Bet I Can Improve Your Mental Health In One Hour" at the 2004 Wisconsin School Counselors Association annual conference Feb. 26 in Stevens Point.Go to top of page

Economics
Maria DaCosta presented a paper titled “China's Exchange Rate: Issues and Policies” at the Eastern Economic Association meetings Feb. 20-22 in Washington, D.C. Go to top of page

Sociology
Tarique Niazi's article “The Questionable Success of Economic Growth in Pakistan” is listed on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Web site as part of its Environmental Justice Bibliography Database.
