Foreign language classes for children to be offered
UW-Eau Claire students enrolled in CI 437 — Teaching Foreign Languages — will offer free introductory classes in French, German and Spanish for children in grades one through five.

Classified Staff Scholarship donations can help educate future generations
Many UW-Eau Claire staff members know UW-Eau Claire students who would be deserving nominees for the Classified Staff Scholarship. Here is an opportunity to help them financially.

The Classified Staff Scholarship is supported entirely by classified staff fund-raising efforts. Tax deductible donations can be made by faculty, academic staff, classified staff or friends of UW-Eau Claire. Additional donations are encouraged so that the amounts given for scholarship awards and the number of awards can increase as the endowment grows. Workshops for education paraprofessionals set for March and April
UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present “Effective Assisting in Education with Dr. T.J. Sheridan” in Green Bay, Wisconsin Dells and Brookfield during March and April. The workshops were designed by Sheridan for teaching/instructional assistants, classroom aides, and general school aides and assistants to meet core requirements in either DPI or PDA and to assist with meeting mandated ESEA requirements. Supervisory management seminars to be offered
UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present “Supervisory Management 2,” a two-day seminar designed for managers with supervisory responsibilities, March 4-5 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire.

Workshop facilitators Ann Lapp and Bob Pecor will focus on establishing orientation policies and procedures, understanding communication behaviors, and time management. Delegating and staff development also will be discussed. Full story.
