2004
planned steam and electrical outages announced
This spring's planned steam outage will occur from 6
p.m. May 22 through 4 p.m. June 1.
The steam outage will result in the following:
• No air conditioning in Hilltop Center.
• No potable hot water throughout the university
except in Chancellors, Thomas and Murray Halls, all hall directors'
apartments, Zorn Arena, Brewer Hall, Human Sciences and Services building,
McIntyre Library, School of Nursing, Haas Fine Arts Center (isolated
areas) and Crest Wellness Center (Health Services facilities only).
This summer's planned electrical outage will occur
Aug. 7. McPhee and Hilltop Center
will be without electrical power for most of that day. These annual
planned outages allow maintenance and repairs to help prevent unplanned
emergency outages due to breakdowns.
The McPhee pool
will be closed for construction and maintenance April
24-June 7. In addition, the Human Sciences and Services building
will undergo a major heating, ventilating and air conditioning renovation
project this summer. Meetings with building occupants will be held before
the project begins. Some areas of the first floor and the entire second
floor will be closed for extended periods.
