and anthropology, was quoted in the Jan. 31 Leader-Telegram article
"A
path into the past," about his investigative work at archaeological
sites in Israel. Geography major Bryan
Frenz, a junior who accompanied Jol on a trip to Nazareth,
Israel, also was quoted. Jol also was quoted
in the Jan. 8 issue of The Star News in an article titled "Getting
to the bottom of it," about Jol's involvement in the analysis
of the base of Rib Lake using ground penetrating radar equipment.
Katherine Schneider, Counseling Services, was quoted in the Jan. 28 Leader-Telegram article "Great Garlyn! — Class impressed with woman's Seeing Eye dog." Jodi Thesing-Ritter,
Housing and Residence Life, was quoted in the Jan. 27 Leader-Telegram
article "Milk
jug igloo a cool place," about an igloo made out of empty
milk jugs that Thesing-Ritter and others created for Sherman School
in Eau Claire. The igloo serves as a reading station in the school's
media center. Karen Witt, emerita,
nursing systems; and
Geoff Peterson, political science, was quoted in the Jan. 26
Leader-Telegram article "To
your health (I) — Reforming U.S. medical system a top priority
in upcoming election." Kris Anderson,
Admissions, was quoted in the Jan. 24 Leader-Telegram article "The
early shift — Some high school students graduate after less
than four years." Doug Olson, allied
health professions, appeared on WEAU-TV Jan. 30 to discuss what to
look for in a long-term health care facility. He was also quoted in
the Jan. 12 issue of McKnight's Long-Term Care News in an article
titled "DON study sheds new light on old challenges, perceptions"
about his work on a two-state study to better define the nursing director's
role. Chuck Tomkovick and
Rama Yelkur, management and marketing,
received extensive attention from national and regional media this
month for their Super Bowl advertising research. Among the media featuring
Tomkovick and Yelkur’s research are: Fortune magazine; Forbes
magazine; the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; the St. Paul Pioneer Press;
The Washington Times; the News-Tribune from Puget Sound, Wash.; National
Public Radio; Wisconsin Public Radio; The Spectator; the Eau Claire
Leader-Telegram; WEAU-TV 13; WQOW-TV 18; WMYX, WBOG, WTMB radio of
Tomah; WAXX and WAYY radio of Eau Claire and WWIB of Chippewa Falls.
They’ve also talked with journalists from CNBC and the St. Louis
Post-Dispatch. Eric Jamelske,
economics, was quoted in the Jan. 18 Leader-Telegram article "Domestic
job assault — Candidates' stands on free trade are important
this election year as more U.S. work heads overseas." |
